Bell Honors School of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunication was founded in 2014 aiming to cultivate top-tier students. Holding the concept of “every student has the potential to be outstanding”, Bell honors school has been dedicated to nurturing students’ interest and ability of scientific research. We are aiming to cultivate innovative talents like those graduated from top universities all over the world. To fulfill that, we have gathered high-quality teaching resources from different schools in NJUPT, gained experience from many successful attempts and paid much attention to international programs. Information Scientific and Technological Elite Class, Science and Engineering Intensification Class and Comprehensive Intensification Class of the Information Arts have been set to satisfy the needs of different students. There are currently 462 undergraduate students in Bell honors school.

Bell honors school has implemented a personalized training program which lays solid and wide knowledge foundation for students. As known as ‘three systems and three strategies’, selecting system, mentor system, rolling system, small class strategy, personalization strategy and internationalization strategy are applied. Research teaching is highly encouraged here. Students are required to carry on researches and discussions to learn new things but not to get the conclusion straightly from textbooks. It offers some courses instructed in English by foreign teachers, using original English teaching materials.

Bell Honors School is well equipped with quality teaching recourses, including lessons given by famous professors, PhD supervisors and academic leaders. The school sets up Dingfeng forum so that academicians and famous scholars can have face-to-face communication with students on a regular basis. The current number of specialized mentors is 320. The school encourages students to motivate the practice innovations, allowing them to participate in School students' scientific and technological innovation entrepreneurship training program and involve in the mentor’s science projects and have a priority in taking part in various competitions, technology trainings, etc in their freshman year. In terms of overseas study, Bell honors school offers both short-term and long-term programs for students in different majors to widen their horizons. Bell honors school students will gain more awards and scholarships like Honor of Merit Student and University First/Second/Third Prize Scholarship. Special funds are set up to aid students to exchange and visit overseas universities. For those students who wants to study further and get a master or Ph.D. degree, Bell honors school also offers more places of postgraduate recommendation for eligible students than other schools.

The College carries out the motto of Honest Virtue, self-discipline, Seeking Truth and Devoting to Practice, and develops in all respects such as being a man, working and learning. In recent years, students have won the highest prize of the National Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest, the Risa Cup; Champion of the ‘RoboCup’ International Robot Competition 3D Simulated Soccer Robot Competition; Special Prize of National English Competition for College Students; Gold Prize of the ACM International College Students Programming Competition National Invitational Competition; National Second Prize of the Challenge Cup National Science and Technology College of extra-curricular academic competition works; Meritorious award of the COMAP's Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM); First prize of National University Mathematical Modeling Competition; Second prize of ACM/ICPC International University Programming Competition; Second prize of National Information Technology Application Competition and first prize of Cross-Strait University Market Survey and Analysis Competition. In recent years, more than 300 national and international awards have been awarded to our students, and more than 30 papers have been retrieved by SCI and EI.

Bell Honor School students have good prospects for development and a high proportion of further education. The average enrollment rate of students for further education in recent three years is over 60%, and that of graduates in 2016 is 74%. During the five years, 349 graduates have been enrolled for further education in top 100 universities in the world and 985, 211 universities in China and universities which are famous for electronic information. Famous foreign universities include the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Maryland, Duke University, George Mason University, Edinburgh University, Manchester University, University of New South Wales, Rutgers University, etc. Domestic universities such as Peking University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, National University of Defense Technology, University of Science and Technology of China, Harbin Institute of Technology, Southeast University, Shandong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. In addition, graduates are recruited by Huawei, ZTE, China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Oracle, Freescale and other well-known enterprises home and abroad. Graduates spread all different fields such as IT, finance, management, government and etc. Our graduates have solid competitiveness in these fields.
